Blessing of the Animals

The Blessing of the Animals service will begin at 11 a.m., and people and their pets are invited to gather on Memorial’s plaza next to Pollasky starting at 10:30 a.m. “Animals and pets are a special part of our lives, as they give us so much comfort, joy, and unconditional love,” said Pastor Vathanak Heang. “We welcome everyone in the community to bring their pets large and small to our special outdoor service so we may celebrate their lives and offer a blessing to them.”
There also will be general prayers for healing of pets that are ill and a memorial for pets that have passed. Pet “parents” also may bring a photo and complete a special blessing card so animals that are unable to be present may be blessed by name.
Pets must remain secured on a leash, halter or in a carrier.
