Clovis Winter Bluegrass Festival

With eight hours of music, intimate workshops, vendors and prizes, this is a day of uncommon musical riches. The artist lineup features The Dalton Mountain Blue Grass Conspiracy and Smiley Mountain. Kids on Bluegrass will perform during the dinner session of the event. Proceeds will benefit the Clovis Senior Center.

Clovis First State Bank Robbery Reenactment

On February 5, 1925, Clovis’ First State Bank was robbed at gunpoint by two daring life-long criminals. They made off with $31,000 and started a manhunt that garnered national attention. Come see the melodramatic reenactment of this historic event. Space is limited but there will be several 15-minute performances throughout the afternoon.

Springtime in the Valley Quilt Show & Cloth Doll Exhibit

Old Town Clovis Motorcycle Show

Set in Old Town Clovis, during the Antique & Collectible Fair, hundreds of motorcycles, from total customs to stock cruisers, from metric to American iron, from baggers to sport bikes, all classes are welcome. Big Hat Days
Saturday and Sunday April 10 and 11, 2010
April in Clovis is Western Heritage Month. The celebration starts on the first full weekend when the Clovis Chamber of Commerce hosts Big Hat Days in Old Town Clovis. With over 125,000 attendees, it is hailed as the largest festival in the entire Central Valley. Everyone is encouraged to wear a hat, a “Big” hat that shields you from the Valley sun as you stroll around 400 food and crafts booths, visit the Home and Garden Show, listen to the music in the Beverage Garden and revel in your children’s enjoyment on the carnival rides.

Clovis Rodeo
April 22 through 25, 2010
Rodeo fans of all ages will delight in the Clovis Rodeo. This year, the Rodeo includes four days of excitement beginning with Thursday night’s PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Competition. This hugely popular crowd pleaser is sparked with fireworks and the top cowboys of the World. 40 bulls are bucked and the top five come back for the grand prize money. Then the top eight tie-down ropers in the world compete for the winner-take-all title.
Friday night is family community night with a class PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association) Rodeo and a live concert, featuring Emerson Drive, in the arena following the rodeo action.
Saturday morning’s Clovis Rodeo Parade begins at 9:30 am downtown. After the parade, you can walk to the Rodeo Grounds, grab a tri-tip sandwich, find your reserved seat and watch the coronation for the 2008 Clovis Rodeo Queen at 1:00 p.m. The Rodeo competition heats up starting at 2:00 p.m.
Sunday’s schedule includes a special Kid’s Rodeo starting at 12:45 p.m. with the professional rodeo action beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Clovis Motorsport Jamboree

If it’s got a motor, bring it on out! Show off your ride along side some of the best cars on the west coast. This is your chance to hear the earth-shaking sounds of 10,000 HP Dragsters revving their engines. Some of the best hot rods in California will be on display as part of the Pro Pit Cars invitational category. This is also your chance to hear stories from some of the best-known racing icons from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s era rot rod world as we honor racing legends Bill Vukovich and Ray Elder. If you have a Mopar of any year, bring it out for a chance to win the title of “Best Mopar on the West Coast” in the Mopar Shootout. On Friday evening, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., all entrants are invited to take part in the Clovis Motorsport Jamboree Cruise Night and Barbeque. Starting at Bicentennial Park, a parade of cars will cruise through the streets of Clovis, ending back at the park for an old fashioned drive-in movie!

Hot August Daze Car & Bike Show

Hot August Daze is held at the Clovis Elks Lodge in Old Town Clovis. The event begins Friday night with the Clovis Cruise and Sock Hop dinner/dance. Saturday morning, Hot August Daze continues with a car and motorcycle show that features some of the most amazingly beautiful custom and stock vehicles to be seen in Central California. Proceeds from the show benefit the Elks Purple Pig Project. This is a major fund that provides equipment, therapy, etc. for disabled children in California.
